We appreciate your eagerness to share your time and talents by volunteering. In order to volunteer for a committee, your company must be an active DCAT member.
The following information will provide you with more information as to how the committees function within the association.
The association currently has six standing committees: Education, Membership, Science & Scholarship, Scholarship Funding, Supply Management, and Technology. Additionally, the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors has the authority to appoint other standing or ad-hoc committees as needed.
In order to more effectively manage the organization’s projects and initiatives, we have core Standing Committees, consisting of member company representatives from diverse industry backgrounds who will work together to guide specific organizational activities. Also, when necessary, a Standing Committee can assign short-term projects and assignments to Task Forces or to individual Volunteers.
While every application is considered, it is important that committees limit their size in order to assure they can operate efficiently. As for task forces of a particular committee, please keep in mind that committees can reach out to volunteers at any time. Formation of task forces are based on projects and specific needs, and therefore, there isn’t any set schedule. If you apply to participate in a task force, please be patient. It’s terrific for a standing committee to know there are willing volunteers when they need them. If you are uncertain of your time commitment, you are always invited to be part of our Industry Volunteer Community as described below.
Please take a few minutes and review these various volunteer engagement levels. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the Volunteer Application Form and submit it to DCAT’s headquarters at Volunteer@dcat.org or by faxing to 609-208-0599.
