Just staying in touch. I hope all is well with you and your family and work is smooth as well
I have finished working with CPM. The people were nice but the work and environment not for me. Very quiet, not communicative, no creativity whatsoever. I developed some “products” for them, but after 7 months they still didn’t launch them. Everyone works really hard and long hours, not enough people to do anything new, that’s how they stay profitable. If you don’t deliver X$ every month, you’re out. No Labour Laws here
I appreciate the months I was there to get established in Sydney, I wish I could have learned something new – it’s still up to me to “find a new way”. Even before I started working for several months ago on a new business venture with a marketing consultant who I met in Bangkok some years ago. It is a BIG project and requires a lot of preparation and involves 4 different parties – the government, an RTO, Shopability and myself. Meanwhile I am taking a certification course in training and consulting – everyone needs certifications and qualifications here, not just university degrees – it ensures a high, consistent standard
I love Sydney. Lots of free music and art events – something to do almost every day. Not making many friends, people are busy with their established lives, but that’s OK there’s lots of stuff to do in the evenings and weekends. And, after all, they are not like you guys and other friends back in Bangkok. Sometimes I go to some local cafes just to talk to the Thai staff, I miss the language and the people. Slowly, slowly I imagine that will change and I will adjust better
Do write, let me know how you, Champ, your family and the office staff are
