Today the majority of membrane separation research is oriented
to introduce a new type of membrane having relatively high
permeability and selectivity. Therefore, zeolite-filled polymeric
membranes seem to be promising for many applications. Duval
et al. [9] investigated carbon molecular sieve and zeolite gas separation
properties of poorly selective rubbery polymer toward a
mixture of CO2/CH4. Lue and Liaw [28] has been using zeolite
ZSM to modify the structure and gas separation of PU membrane.
Results show that incorporation of zeolite into PU membrane renders
a decrease in Xylene solubility as compared with pure PU film,
with the increment in diffusion coefficient and diffusivity selectivity
enhancing the separation efficiency by using the PU–zeolite
blend
