A teenage boy in Northampton,England,had both his feet stitched back on in a 12-hour operation which as believed to be the first of its kind in Britain. Seventeen year old Peter Holmes's feet were cut off when he was cleaning a soap making machine and the blades accidentally started up. The nures packed both feet in ice to stop the tissue deteriorating. After receiving anti-infection treatment,Peter was sent to Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Buckinghamshire 60 kilomrtres away,where eight surgeons performed the operation.
