The total phenols content of goat meat was in the range of 1.3–
1.5 mg of Gallic acid equivalent/g. The meat from the goat fed with
MOL supplement had a higher concentration of total phenols content
than the meat of goat from the control diet and thus imply the antioxidant potential of MOL in the meat sample. Variation in the reducing
power was observed in the three supplements as shown inTable 5.The
results of reducing power in various tissues from goats supplemented
with MOL (0.64) demonstrated better AA compared to SC (0.38) and
GH (0.31). Generally, the present study has demonstrated potent AA of
MOL and thus may be exploited as an important source of improving
antioxidant status of meat from livestock.
