1. Summary
This Code of Practice provides the outline and framework for the managing of work related stress in Syngenta.
The focus of this CoP is on the prevention of ill health, but it must be remembered that Health through action is one of the four Syngenta values, which recognizes that the vitality of our relationship with people requires constant awareness and care.
This CoP should also be considered along with the CoP on Promoting Good Health, as there are positive and beneficial aspects to managing work related stress, focusing on the aspects of health in relation to performance and wellbeing.
The term “wellbeing” is used frequently, and may have differing meanings. In Syngenta wellbeing is taken to mean:
“A state characterized not simply by the absence of disease or symptom, but also by the energy, enthusiasm and purpose that is engendered by maximizing an individual’s physical and mental health”.
Achievement of wellbeing in our employees is essential to the achievement of our health value.
