The discrete orthogonal Tchebichef moment has been introduced in [7, 8].
Since the Tchebichef polynomials satisfy perfectly the orthogonal property in the discrete domain of image coordinate space and the computation of Tchebichef moments does not require any discrete approximation,
these properties result in its superiority to the conventional continuous orthogonal moments in field of image representation capability.
Experiment has been conducted to test the performance of Tchebichef moment and complex moment in recognizing images of some symmetric shapes.
Itreported that Tchebichef moment achieves higher recognition rate than complex moment [9].
