There is confusion between micro-economics and macro-economics within this school. The two subjects are separate and when intertwined as they are here, it can result in a number of conflicting results. Business cycles, for example, are not due to individual micro-economic activities but due to general trends, and it is wrong to introduce them simultaneously with individual speculation in land prices. This argument is only acceptable when the general trend is recognized for speculators to (macro-economically) operate together on creating sharp competition for access to useful sites.
