Quinoa has a remarkable adaptability to different agroecological zones. It adapts to different climates, growing at relative humidities from 40% to 88% and withstanding temperatures from −4°C to 38°C (FAO, 2011); temperatures ranging between 15°C and 20°C are ideal for cultivation. It is a water-efficient plant, tolerant and resistant to lack of soil moisture, and produces acceptable yields with rainfall of 100–200 mm.
