In Scandinavia, PD research projects focusing on user
participation, cooperation and design have a long tradition, dating
back to the 1970s (Bødker, Ehn, Sjögren, & Sundblad, 2000).
Ehn (1992) described the tool perspective of early PD in which
technological solutions were seen as an extension of known work
tools. This perspective encourages the designer to understand
the specific labour process of using work tools. As described by
