After 4 days of treatment, the proportion of women
who had no vomiting in the ginger group (11 out of 32
patients, 34%) was greater than that in the placebo group
(6 out of 30, 18%). When the average number of vomiting episodes over the 4 days of treatment was subtracted
from the corresponding baseline value for each patient,
and the overall change in the number of vomiting episodes for subjects in the two groups was compared, a
greater reduction in the number of vomiting episodes
was found in the ginger group, but no significant difference was seen (Table 2).
