Sport category was the only significant risk factor (p < 0.001), racket and individual sports being associated with a lower injury risk compared to team sports (HR = 0.37 and 0.34, p = 0.001 and p < 0.001, respectively). In other words, athletes
engaged in racket or individual sports had a 63% and 66% lower risk of getting injured, respectively. None of the other variables had a significant impact on injury risk.
