A mass balance model has been developed for the particle size distribution and solids mass fluxes in the 966MWth supercritical CFB boiler.
•
The experimental data for limestone and ash from coal show that measured particle size distributions have a bimodal nature.
•
Attrition process had a very important effect on particles size distributions.
•
Ash content in the main fuel significantly affected solids mass flow, especially for circulating material and fly ash.
•
The simulation results of solids mass flow indicate a strong interrelation between the attrition rate and the separator efficiency.
