This trip may lack the fervour and fanaticism of tours to the Far East but America really is the land of opportunity for Liverpool.
The scenes in Boston, Chicago, New York and Charlotte over the past fortnight have underlined the huge commercial potential for the Reds in the States.
It’s no coincidence that domestic rivals Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal have also crossed the Atlantic this summer.
The sport is booming here and English clubs are falling over each other in the race to tap into that growing interest in what football executives view as the world’s number one developing market.

USA’s gutsy displays at the World Cup finals in Brazil came after a season when NBC’s extended coverage of Premier League football attracted record viewing figures.
Every single game was televised live and the average of 438,000 was almost double the numbers for the 2012/13 season when matches were shown on ESPN and Fox Soccer.
The profile of Major League Soccer is also blossoming with high-profile new recruits such as David Villa and Frank Lampard. Games are attracting younger audiences and as a result the sponsors are flocking.
Major companies want to be associated with the beautiful game and Wednesday’s match in New York showcased how well positioned Liverpool are to take advantage of that.
Manchester City were the club with the presence in the Big Apple having shelled out $100million to take a majority stake in new MLS side New York City FC.
However, their small pocket of fans were drowned out by the sea of red shirts in the crowd of nearly 50,000.
Liverpool’s remarkable global support and rich history is why the likes of Subway, Dunkin Donuts, Gatorade and Warrior want to be associated with them.
Commercial events on this tour, which has included the sight of Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson making sandwiches, have strengthened ties with those key sponsors.
More lucrative deals are in the pipeline with the Reds in talks with a number of companies over opportunities linked to the new Main Stand project.
Aside from the matches and the sponsors’ events, Liverpool’s dedicated band of foundation coaches have left a lasting impression with their youth coaching clinics.
Fans may not like hearing the word but it’s all about building the brand and generating the cash required to compete at the highest level.
Liverpool are in a different league to their rivals when it comes to connecting with fans on social media platforms. That interaction is crucial to making supporters feel part of the club – despite living thousands of miles from Anfield.
Concerns are bound to be raised about whether being out of the country for so long will have a detrimental effect on the Reds’ preparations for the new season but Brendan Rodgers insists he’s happy with the schedule.
“There is no hardship to come out here and reach out to some of our great supporters,” he said.
“The facilities here provide a great platform for our work. The main objective for us is football, that’s always clear in how I work. Everything else fits around that. The balance in our trips here is very much football-based.”
If the Reds beat AC Milan in their last International Champions Cup group game in Charlotte on Saturday night their trip to America will extend to a fifth game in the space of 12 days.
There is the mouthwatering prospect of them facing Manchester United in Monday’s final at Miami’s 76,000 capacity Sun Life Stadium.
English football’s two most successful clubs going toe to toe on American soil would be the dream ending for the tournament organisers.
Whatever happens this tour has been a resounding success on and off the pitch for the Reds and you can guarantee they will be back for more in 2016.
Reds pair are hottest ticket in town
Liverpool duo Simon Mignolet and Mamadou Sakho held a signing session for supporters at a bar owned by a local sporting legend.
North Carolina has never had a Major League Baseball side with NFL team Carolina Panthers the biggest pull in town.
However, after American football NASCAR racing comes a close second.
Dale Earnhardt Junior is a massive star in these parts and he owns the Whisky River where Mignolet and Sakho visited prior to the open training at the Bank of America Stadium.
Brendan Rodgers' players don't need to worry about the heat on the fourth stop of this gruelling tour.
The temperature in Charlotte has only been in the early 20s with frequent bursts of heavy rain ensuring this feels very much like an English summer.
Under-19s in friendly draw
Sergi Canos was on target as Liverpool Under-19s drew 1-1 with Schalke on their tour of Europe.
Jordan Rossiter, Jerome Sinclair and Harry Wilson were also among those on duty for the young Reds.
A Liverpool Under-17 side were 2-0 winners over Schalke thanks to Brooks Lennon and an own goal.
Academy coach Neil Critchley said: “It was a pleasing victory and we played some very good football in the first half.
“Schalke were fantastic hosts. The facilities were first class and the pitch was excellent so it has been a really good experience for the lads.”
* Liverpool Under-21s will start the 2014/15 season with a trip to Sunderland on Monday, August 18 (7pm).
Their first home game of the campaign is against Manchester United at Anfield on Friday, August 22.
Reds helping lift owners' spirits
Liverpool's success in the States should at least help to lift the spirits of owners John W Henry and Tom Werner after the recent struggles of the Boston Red Sox.
Last season's World Series winners are doomed to not even make the play-offs this time around. They had lost eight of their last nine matches prior to Friday night's clash with the New York Yankees.
