a potential system for improvement of the banana
through genetic transformation as well as mass multiplication.
The present protocol overcomes most of the limitations
of somatic embryogenic systems reported in previous studies.
This technique has great potential to improve sustainable
banana yield by applying biotechnology, which could become
an additional useful tool for plant breeders to ensure
food security by stabilizing sustainable crop production and
improving the socioeconomic status of the growers.
