The manipueira used in this study was collected from the
Horizonte cassava starch factory, located in the municipality of
Novo Tres Passos, district of Marechal C ^ andido Rondon, Paran ^
a
State, Brazil. Following collection, manipueira was placed in 5 L
capacity plastic bottles which were either kept at 4 C for 24 h or
used immediately. Before use, free cyanide was in
manipueira samples.
