In addition, based on SPS activity and the relative expression of sps and 14-3-3 (tft1 and tft10) in tomato, we inferred that 14-3-3 protein in tomato fruit could probably regulate SPS activity intermittently. Above knowable, 14-3-3 protein was an important regulatory factor that played an important role in the metabolic process of carbon source. Therefore, a further research through over-expression of 14-3-3 is needed to affirm the down- regualtion of 14-3-3 protein on SPS. It was possible to improve the yield and quality of crop by regulating the key enzyme of sucrose metabolism (Cui et al. 2007).
