Receive and handle enquiries from customers.
Collect accurate information and documentation from customers, and review suppliers’ quotation before submitting the inquiry to the Sales team.
Investigate and plan most appropriate route for shipment.
Follow up closely with agents and shipping lines abroad to ensure that pricing is provided on time.
Negotiate transportation and handling costs as well as space and equipment availability for air/sea/overland freight operations with truckers, shipping lines, crane companies, packers and other suppliers.
Issue quotations to clients after getting approval of Sales team.
Follow up on enquiries and quotations.
Coordinate with operations to arrange shipments for customers as per their requirements to meet the deadlines.
Maintain databases containing buy rates, sell rates and sales leads.
Secondary responsibilities:
Research potential customers while utilizing Internet, trade press and trade bodies.
Telesales to potential customers to promote the company’s services via air/sea/overland and generate interest, and arrange appointments.
Build and maintain good business relationship with customers.
Maintain a current knowledge of relevant legislation and other factors that could affect the movement of freight.
