The data in Figs. 1 and 2 shows that there was a significant positive correlation between SSC and P content in strawberry fruits,so we speculate that applying P fertilizer could enhance both P content and SSC in strawberry fruits. An experiment that ‘Yanli strawberry plants were irrigated phosphoric acid was conducted.Compared with the control that plants were irrigated with water, the treatments that irrigated with 4.0 mM or 6.0 mM phosphoric acid significantly increased both the P content and SSC in straw-berry plants (Table 3). When the concentration of phosphoric acid in solution was enhanced to 8.0 mM, the difference of P content between treatment and control was not significant. Application of6.0 mM phosphoric acid had the most remarkable effect on increase of both P content and SSC in strawberry fruits, i.e., P content in fruits of 6.0 mM phosphoric acid treated plants increased 45.0% compared with control, and SSC in fruits of treated plants increased 16.7%.At the same time, P contents in leaves of 6.0 mM phosphoric acid treated plants increased 41.9% compared with control.
