Considering that H. erinaceum NIAST 48006 has been used for commercial mushroom production, we expect H. americanum (which produced similar amount of mushroom and biological efficiency) could be used for commercial production. Additionally, although H. coralloides showed the least production, the species showed its potential for use in artificial cultivation. Since there has been no report on the production of H. americanum and H. coralloides mushrooms on oak sawdust substrate, our work extends the use of these two species for the production of diverse Hericium mushrooms.
