CCP are considered a waste product for power generation facilities. Waste material, however, should be removed and land filled appropriately. The authors have witnessed well-run facilities that do not pose any threats to health and the environment. Stringent regulations likely will move in that direction, but should not to the point to make the product a hazardous material. Such an outcome would seriously affect (and most likely end) the cement/concrete, road base and gypsum board industry that is providing a significant benefit to the environment. Even so, utilizing the fly ash in a positive manner such an blending to become hydraulic cement utilizes those otherwise discarded materials.
