Aside from the limited communication between the participating hotel organisations
and employment agencies, respondents reported limited interaction between the hotels’
employees with no disabilities and employees with disabilities. Hotel managers sensed a
certain discomfort amongst their employees to discuss with co-workers with disabilities
aspects related to disability. Respondents assumed that persons with no disability might be
afraid of behaving politically incorrect when confronted with colleagues with a disability,
while employees with a disability might be embarrassed or afraid of losing their job when
identifying themselves as having a disability
