The subject is divorce and it is clearly seen in the text. Two parents will share their son "Jacob." Both parents each have their own opinion on what clothes Jacob, among other things, should wear. The sound in the movie is good. It's clear when he's talking and when the parents are talking. Happy music is played when no one is talking in the movie.
The message of the film is that even if you're divorced, you still have to be able to have the profits to talk to the other parent. So it doesn't affect the child and so it's not the child who needs to communicate between the parents and pass on a message. At the end of the film, Jacob runs away from home and it's only when the parents get to be able to talk. So it is important that you keep the good contact even if you are divorced, so that it does not end so far before you can talk.
