Participants in the present study were 48 fourth year undergraduate students in English for International Communication Program from the Faculty of Science and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya in the first semester of academic year 2015. The research instruments used for assessing levels of students’ writing ability and exploring problems in writing each section of the research articles were 24 research papers written in English, and the instrument employed for examining students’ opinions toward writing each research section was a five-scale Likert-type questionnaire, where in a score of 1 indicates the lowest satisfaction and a score of 5 indicates the highest satisfaction
