In-drum processing (mixing of waste with reagents takes place in a container);
• In-plant processing (the treatment is done in a specialized plant);
• Mobile-plant processing (a mobile unit is moved to the contaminated site);
• Ex situ treatment (the waste is removed from the contaminated site and treated
or disposed elsewhere)
• In situ treatment (the waste is left in place and the addition and mixing of
reagents is done locally, see Figure 5.6-18)
