From 14 to 22 DAP the concentration of total soluble
sugar increased rapidly from 0.06 0.004 mg g1 FW to 0.23
0.006 mg g1 FW. The concentration of soluble protein increased
from 0.59 0.013 mg g1 FW to 1.31 0.085 mg g1 FW over the
same period (Fig. 3A and B). Both total soluble sugar and soluble
protein continued to increase slowly until 34 DAP. Thereafter the
concentration of total soluble sugar declined substantially, however,
the total soluble protein concentration was declined only slightly.
