3.3. Stained rice grains
The percentages of stained rice are presented in Fig. 2. Regression
analysis of the relationship between the stained rice content and the storage period resulted in a cubic polynomial equation with
an R2 of 1.000 for the grains stored in both the silos equipped or not
equipped with the exhausters. Therewas an increase in the content
of stained rice during the first 3 months of storage (Fig. 2). This
initial increase was lower in the grains that were stored in the silos
that were equipped with exhausters, which was 0.27% less at 3
months compared with the percentage of stained rice in the samples
from the silos that were not equipped with exhausters. The
percentage of stained rice did not change between 6 and 9 months
of storage compared to that of the grains stored under each condition
during the first 3 months
