In order to gain an understanding of managers' views on the value on the value of HR, they were asked to rate HR aspects, with 5 being excellent and 1 being poor. The highest mean score was found in relation to the working relationship with the HR manager (M=3.91). Senior managers were more inclined than departmental managers to rate this as excellent. Individual contribution to training and development was rated as excellent by 13% of the managers, 47% indicated that this was very good and 31% that it was good (M=3.65).
