. The stock solution of Pb(NO3)2 at a
concentration of 1000 mg LK1
of Pb(II) was used in all
experimental runs. A known weight of wheat bran was
equilibrated with Pb(II) solutions of known concentrations
in a stopped pyrex glass flask at a fixed temperature in a
thermostatic shaker bath (150 rpm) for a known period of
time. After equilibration, the suspension was centrifuged in
a stopped tube for 5 min at 2000 rpm and the metal solution
then was analyzed with an Unicam model 929 Atomic
Absorption Spectrometer (AAS).
