TOUR DESCRIPTION
Day 1
After pick up at your Bangkok hotel we will commence the drive out of the city towards Ayutthaya. Ayutthaya was once Siam's capital city, it was unfortunately lost to the Burmese where the city was sacked and ruined but despite this you can still see many of the old city and temple remnants and Buddha images, following Ayutthaya we will continue the drive north to Phitsanulok stopping on route for lunch. In Phitsanulok we will visit Phitsanulok's most important temple: Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat and a small Buddha image casting foundry where you can see new Buddha images being formed from bronze and other metals. (closed Mondays and Tuesdays and public holidays) You will overnight in Phitsanulok and a stroll around Phitsanulok's night market is highly recommended.

Day 2
After pick up from your Phitsanulok hotel we will make our way to Sukhothai. Sukhothai was once the center of the former Sukhothai Thai Kingdom which was founded in the 13th century as the first truly independent Thai Kingdom. Again here you will be able to see the remnants of the once spectacular temple buildings and Buddha images. At Sukhothai there is an option to hire bicycles if you would prefer to peddle your way around some of the temples. After Sukhothai we will start our drive further north to Lampang province where will will drop in to see Wat Prah That Lampang Luang, Lampangs most important temple. Following Lampang we will make the last leg of the drive to Chiang Mai where we will transfer you direct to your chosen Chiang Mai hotel.
A visit to Srisanchanalai Historical Park can be arranged on this tour as a replacement for Wat Phrathat Lampang Luang. Please request this at the time of booking or inquiry
