It an age old practice if you dig deep in to history books and is considered to be new as people made their own fruit infused waters. They have been doing it for centuries just the old fashioned way using huge mason jars and/or pitchers. The basic concept however remained the same and simple. Essential oils, Tea and coffee are some ingredients that were infused in the 10th and 11th century in water, oil or alcohol. Today’s example of infused water is tea bags made with filter paper filled with tea flavors. Herbal teas are prepared in the same way with Lemon, Chamomile, Ginger, Apple and more. In the past various techniques like boiling, French pressers have been also used to infuse flavors in the liquids.
