Concerning health insurance related to migrant workers, the situation is that neither migrant nor Thai workers are covered by the labor laws of
Thailand to have full health insurance. Chanchai et al. reported that 60.3% of the migrant workers surveyed in Kanchanaburi Province registered for State Health Insurance, but most 53% (n = 159 people) paid 1,300 baht/year for individual health insurance, and 74.1 % (n = 123 people) said their
employers paid. Also, a study by Ayuwat et al. indicated that Laotian people in agriculture reported that they did not receive any health screening before immigrating to Thailand.
