An integrated geological, hydrochemical, and geoelectrical investigation of shallow groundwater occurrence
in Burg El-Arab area, northwestern coastal zone of Egypt is carried out. Groundwater of oolitic limestone
and clastic aquifers is the principal source of water supply for agriculture in the area. The purpose
of this study is to describe the hydrogeologic characteristics of aquifers and to provide a general evaluation
of the chemical quality of water in aquifers. Chemical analysis was used to evaluate the chemical
characteristics of groundwater and assessment of water quality. Electrical soundings were employed
to delineate different water bearing formations and the configuration of the interface between them.
