Seed
In freshly harvested seed the whole structure is firm and swollen, with a high moisture content.
The embryo is 5-6 mm in length and pale salmonpink.The cotyledons are approx. 2 mm long. The
oily endosperm is surrounded by a thin, dry, papery integument and the whole is enclosed by the testa
with its membranous outgrowth or wing.
