Rim Moei Market
Situated across Myawaddy in Myanmar, Rim Moei Market is a local community on Moei River’s bank, in which offers both Thai and Burmese local goods such as dried bamboo shoot, dried fish, Shiitake mushroom, beans, leathergoods, and satin. Apart from that, tourists can cross the Thai-Myanmar boarder by boats, operating from 7.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. with 15 Baht of boarder crossing fee. Tourists can take a motorcycle trailer to the market. And if you wish to visit cross the boarder to Myanmar, you have to obtain a temporary boarder pass by bringing an ID card and a copy, 2 passport photos and an issuing fee of 20 Baht to Mae Sot’s temporary boarder pass office. When stepping on Myanmar’s soil, another 10 Baht of boarder pass fee is applied. The boarder opens everyday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. No camera is allowed.
