For prospective accounting interns, I advise you to never shy away from showing your enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is a driving force that is a key to networking and long-term success; it is a quality that recruiters can sense immediately. In a community where international convergence is becoming more prominent, networking and client relationships are vital to staying competitive. I also encourage honesty, especially during your internship. I know a fellow audit intern who was placed on two ICE clients, but she really wanted to work for a manufacturing client. Instead of just keeping the thought to herself, she voiced her concern to the schedulers, who were able to heed to her request. By keeping these key qualities in mind, you can build the strong foundation necessary to succeed in your career.
