Alternatively, these authors have suggested that spores of
Alternaria may be tolerant to high concentrations of ethanol. In this
study, the CO2 concentration ranged from 1 to 3 kPa in the MAP
bags (ZOEpac-110, ZOEpac-210, and Antimicrobial bags), which
was quite lower than the threshold concentration of 15 kPa CO2
inhibiting B. cinerea growth in ‘Red Globe’ grapes (Retamales et al.,
2003). Therefore, no reduction in fungal decay due high CO2 was
observed in the present study.
