Success: Uncle Sa-ing reaches Siriraj Hospital
"Uncle" Sa-ing Harnpakhon has reached Siriraj Hospital, ending his more than 500km walk/run from his Phrae's Den Chai district, a trip he began on October 12.
On his final day of his 10-day journey, he set out from Pathum Thani, reaching the hospital in late afternoon.
The obviously tired but happy 63-year-old left a vase of yellow orchids for His Majesty the King as he wrote of message wishing the monarch a swift recovery from his recent operation.
Uncle Sa-ing signed a well-wishing book in front of the King's portrait at the hospital amid cheers of officials, onlookers and people who packed Siriraj Hospital to greet him. "I'm glad and feel deeply touched today," he said.
But it wasn't easy.
"I felt dejected after the first few days. I couldn't even get up. My legs were in pain. I felt my toes were about to abandon my body," he said.
