3. Results and discussion
3.1. Total phenolic content of olive leaf extract
The phenolic compounds can effectively scavenge free radicals
and chelate transition metals, thus stopping progressive oxidative
damage (Brewer, 2011). The total phenolic compounds in olive leaf
was 206.81 ± 0.02 mg GAE/g of sample. This result concurred with
the reports of Rafiee et al. (2012).
