At the first of this chapter when the priest heard the news he thought that how to get
the pearl from Kino by false reasons like if Kino had ever brought Coyotito to the church or if
he had married Kino and Juana. In the other words, to have obligation back from Kino and in
order to repair the church. In the evening the priest came to Kino’s house to ask that ‘Kino’
was the name of the great father of the Church, so he hope that Kino would be kind and
gave the pearl to him, but Kino didn’t. Secondly he claimed that Kino had found the pearl
because God made him found, so He wanted Kino to gave it back to God’s representative
like him, but this time Juana said she will be married in the church. In the end when the
priest knew that Kino will never let a pearl to anyone for free, he left. And the way he spoke,
he spoke like a Great Man who deserved praising by called himself ‘Father’ and called
another people ‘Children’ to made himself be powerful and to show that he had knowledge,
he told Kino something Kino couldn’t understand like origin of Kino’s name, but the way he
acted didn’t deserved honoring at all. At least I think he is the one who want to have a pearl for free by spaces of unawareness and kindness of Kino.
