Monkey Bay wines take their name from a small, beautiful bay on the coast
of Marlborough, situated in the South Island of New Zealand. A legendary
monkey was once believed to have inhabited this secluded spot.
Monkey Bay Rosé is a blend of Merlot and Malbec, grown in our Hawkes
Bay vineyards. After harvesting, the grapes were immediately crushed and
destemmed, and given three hours of skin contact prior to pressing to impart
a pink hue. The juice was then drained off the skins and transferred to stainless
steel tanks to undergo a cool fermentation using selected yeast strains to
promote the fresh berry flavours.
The wine was stabilised, fined, and filtered prior to bottling.
