Access Control
Objectives
1. To establish general procedures and guidelines to control guest, visitor, and contractor access while preventing unauthorized access to Novotel Phuket Resort.
2. The Security Department will monitor all resort access points on a 24 hour basis.
Procedures
I. VEHICLE/PEDESTRIAN ACCESS
1. Security Officers located at the Main Entrance will control vehicular access to the resort.
2. All vehicles will be stopped at the Main Entrance. Security will greet the driver in a courteous, polite manner and with a smile.
3. Record vehicle details to include time in/out, car type, plate number, contact person, and other important details in the in-out car log book.
4. Security will categorize vehicles as:
A. Visitors, Suppliers, and Contractors. Security will direct all visitors, suppliers, and contractors to the Timekeeper. Personnel in these categories must state the purpose of their visit. Security will verify the stated purpose and arrival with the appropriate department head or guest. Security will request persons in this category to provide a form of identification with photo in exchange for a Visitor/Contractor pass. Security will record the Visitor/Contractor’s name, badge number, time in and out, in the Visitor logbook. When the
Visitor/Contractor leaves. Security will return their identification card and receive the resort badge. Security may check the visitor’s bags and parcels before allowing the visitor to leave.
B. If there are multiple workers belonging to the one company, photo identification of the supervisor or person in charge will be provided. The number of employees will be recorded and all are to be issued with a contractors pass. These passes will be clearly displayed at all times.
C. Loading and unloading of deliveries will be supervised by the respective department or by Security Officers either in person or via video cameras.
D. Any contractor or visitor removing resort property must show a property removal slip approved by a department head to the security department office before it can be removed from the resort premises.
II. Parking
1. The resort’s parking facilities are limited and reserved for guests and customers.
2. Parking in areas not designated for parking is not permitted. Cars will not be allowed to park on the shoulder of the road or in driveways.
3. Should all car parking areas be full, cars will be directed to alternative parking areas.
4. Double parking and leaving cars with their handbrake off and out of gear is not allowed.
5. Resort Management will provide the Security Department with advance notification of events or functions for which large parking requirements are anticipated.
6. Resort Management will notify the Security Department of any reservations for VIP or guest parking.
7. Under no circumstances are guests allowed to leave any vehicles behind on resort premises after checkout. Security will monitor guests placing baggage inside vehicles and not departing. They must be queried as to what they are doing and if necessary the supervisor should be called.
8. When a guest has checked out and their vehicle has broken down the owner must take appropriate measures to remove the vehicle from the resort. The security department will monitor and report any such occurrences.
