3. Raise and manage energy levels
o The quickest and best way to raise energy levels is with a high-paced energizer. Here are my five favorite ways to do energizers:
o Lead the class in morning stretching: then step up the pace with an activity such as marching in place
o Do a quick Simon Says game in which students have to maintain a frantic pace in an attempt to keep up with you
o Do some cross-lateral actions. While standing, have students punch the air across their bodies, touch opposite elbows, and touch opposite shoulders and hips.
o Have a student leader come up front alone, with a partner, or with the whole group to lead the other students in an activity.
o Have no room to move (except while seated), you can do quick
o Even if you energizers. Students can pretend that the person at the front of their row is a crazy bus driver, and all the gyrations that student does, others follow behind.
