The proximate analyses of feed ingredients and
experimental diets and fish carcasses were carried out in
triplicate according to AOAC (1990). The gross energy
contents of the diets were calculated according to Jauncey
and Ross (1982). Weight gain (g), specific growth rate
(SGR % per day), feed conversion ratio (FCR), protein
efficiency ratio (PER), apparent net protein utilisation
(ANPU %) and survival (%) of the fish were calculated
according to Castell and Tiews (1980). MSTAT package
