constant, Kahanec and Zimmermann (2009) study opinions and attitudes towards immigrants and minorities and their interactions with other barriers to minorities economic integration. they use a unique dataset the gauge the perspectives of expert stakeholders and of ethnics minorities on their integration situation and the main barriers that hinder it. in this survey about themselves. they find that ethnics minorities face integration problems and the natives general negative attitude are a key factor of the of the challenging situation of minorities. while discrimination is acknowledged as the single most important integration barriers, low education and self-confidence as well as cultural differences also hinder integration. lastly, minorities do want change and want it to come about by policies based on the principle of equal treatment.
