Prewriting
Choose your subject: Choose a person whose life seems especially appealing
to you. Once you have decided on a subject, make notes about what you
already know about his or her life and personality.
Think about what areas of this person’s life you would like to focus on. Then,
write down some questions to help you direct your research, e.g.
x What was the person’s family background like?
x What about his education?
x What qualities made him/ her outstanding?
x What was (s)he like as a person?
x What were his/ her personality strengths and weaknesses?
x What did (s)he do best?
x What did (s)he not do as well?
