eported that when PEG was mixed with PLA, the tensile strength and elastic modulus decreased, but the percentage elongation at break increased.The addition of 10-30 wt% of PEG reduced the tensile strength and modulus, this behavior may from PEG in PLA matrix. The PLA/PEG (80/20) indicates blends that the tensile strength was reduced to 39.2% and the tensile modulus was reduced. Compared with neat PLA, it can be noted that PLA lacks elasticity, which is obvious in elongation at fracture. PEG increased elongation at fracture and reduced brittleness of PLA. From the increasing of Izod impact strength, neat PLA compared with PLA mixed with PEG, the glass transition temperature (Tg) of neat PLA decreased PEG show glassy temperature droped, means polymer after mixing, less energy was required to change the molding state at a lower temperature.
