In this chapter, we introduce the main theories that underpin สนับสนุน the research.
First in chapter 2.1 modeling in Software Process Improvement (SPI) is discussed.
Then in Chapter 2.2 we give an overview to the theory of Basic Modeling Situation (BMS). It helps us to understand the single actor’s viewpoint when a descriptive model of an actual process is discussed or an improved model is introduced.
In Chapter 2.3, The Process Ontological Model (POM) is referred to. We distinguish three abstraction levels of a process: conceptual, mental and physical levels.
Then, in Chapter 2.4 concept of process conception is defined. A contradiction in a process case is seen as a difference between two or more actor’s process conceptions.
In Chapter 2.5, the evolutionary types of a process under improvement are defined. The types are considered from the viewpoint of an actor’s mental process by identifying the assessable features of a process in the life cycle of improvement.
In Chapter 2.6 types of the process feature related questions and visualization of assessment results is presented.
