Fourier transforms infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR) was also used for further structural analysis of the as-synthesized NaY materials. IR spectrum was recorded by means of a Perkin-Elmer PE-2000 FTIR spectrometer. A mixture of the sample and KBr was pressed into a thin wafer for FTIR measurements.. into two classes including; 1) those assigned to the internal vibrations of TO4 tetrahedron (i.e. the primary units of the NaY structure) that are not sensitive to other structural vibrations and 2) vibrations which may be related to the linkages between tetrahedral that are sensitive to the structural vibrations [11]. In addition, T–O bending, double ring vibrations, as well as symmetrical and asymmetrical stretching are also assigned in the FTIR spectra. In the FTIR spectra, the peak at 467 cm−1 can be assigned to the internal TO4 (T_Si, Al) tetrahedral bending of the NaY zeolitic structure. Furthermore, the peaks appeared at 568 cm−1 can be attributed to the double ring external linkage and the peaks at 685 cm−1 and 775 cm−1 should be assigned to the symmetrical stretching of the external link- age and internal tetrahedral, respectively. Overall, the FTIR spectrum of the sample can be evaluated as a characteristic FTIR spectrum of NaY zeolite
