If you go home with the Pneumostat valve in place:
• Wash around the tube with soap and water each
day. Use gentle pressure when you wash. Gently
pat dry with a soft cloth.
• Every day, place a clean, folded 4-inch by 4-inch
gauze pad above and below the tube and secure
them with tape. Also, tape the tube to your skin
to prevent it from coming loose.
• Tell your doctor or nurse if you notice any
redness or drainage around the tube site.
• To empty fluid from the collection chamber, wipe
the Needleless Luer Port with an alcohol swab.
Attach a clean syringe to the port and withdraw
the fluid. Discard the fluid and the syringe
